Project Overview
A warren of boxed-in rooms once isolated this mid-’80s kitchen from the rest of the home. Alto Builders removed two load-bearing pony walls, hid a structural LVL beam in the ceiling line, and re-oriented the cooking hub around a crisp white island. The transformation unifies the kitchen, bay-window dining nook, and living area into one sun-washed gathering space that feels triple its original size. Matte-white, wood-grain cabinetry with slim brass pulls now stretches floor-to-ceiling, concealing a counter-depth refrigerator and pantry towers while keeping sightlines clean. A waterfall of European-oak luxury-vinyl plank flooring grounds the bright palette and ties directly into adjacent living zones. Panoramic windows and a three-panel slider invite the lush backyard inside, while dimmable LEDs and under-cabinet strips provide perfect task lighting long after sunset. The result is a kitchen that’s casual for weekday breakfasts yet refined enough for weekend entertaining.
